Doing great

Everyone is doing great lately. Ava has had a few appts this week with her special needs ped and neurology. We are going to put her on Amitriptyline for her headaches and slowly wean her off Neurontin. We do need to get a handle on her headaches. I'm still not wanting to try seizure meds because her seizure episodes are sporadic. That's really it for a neuro standpoint right now.

Her SN ped wants her to go back to speech therapy, which is comical. Ava never quits talking. He can't understand a word she says, so off to ST we go. Along with a hearing test. I really doubt she has hearing loss or a real need for speech therapy.

Blood sugar has been stable with lows only into the 50's so we are very happy about that! Still faxing records and getting things lined up for Dr Cohen.

Dakota is doing great too. She has saved money for a long time to get her own pet and will be picking out a chinchila this weekend. To say she's excited is an understatment.

Christian is his goofy self. He's into boy scouts and scaring me with his stunts. The kid has no fear.

As for me, I've had 2 doctors lecture me about taking time for myself this week. Apparently I look tired. You think? Ha!

Just to let everyone know that I'm not sure what to do with my blog right now. I've had over 100 requests to be added to keep reading and the limit is 100 readers. I'm just not sure what I'm going to do yet. Ava's pictures have been removed from the other site, as well as some kids from very well-known friends' blogs. These people seem to like stealing special needs children's pictures.

Ava is her usual self. I've been signed off on port care so I can now access, dress, flush, de-access and all that. I'm also able to give D25 when needed. I carry an emergency bag everywhere we go with all the supplies to do these things. Hopefully Ava will behave and I won't need to do this!
