Home with updates

Ava is now home and back to her normal, goofy self. She has a new emergency protocol for hypoglycemia. In case of blood sugar below 45 that will not come up (due to vomiting, etc..) I am going to access her port and push 30 ml of D25 over 3 minutes, leave her accessed and get her to the hospital. We had considered D10 through an IV pump, but she recently dropped on D10 to 4o. D10 won't help us in an emergency, which we learned this last admission. It does, however, help maintain blood sugar once it has been stabilized. Tomorrow the nurse is coming over to watch me access, flush and de-access Ava's port. I also get the D25 and new supplies.

Ava's GJ change went fine. She's always been on continuous feedings so that hasn't changed. :)

Ava's Neurometabolic Dr and special needs Pediatrician are referring to Dr Cohen. They should be faxing her records to Akron soon. I'm really curious about what he'll say.

Other than that, everyone is good. Christian won a huge trophy for his Boy Scout pinewood derby race. He's very excited about that. :)
