Ava did great and is now home. Her adnoids were huge and obstructing her airway so hopefully this will belp her apnea when she sleeps. Her tonsils are at a 2-3 station (of 4), so we are waiting to have them removed. She may need a supraglottoplasty as well. I don't love that idea and will mention that at her follow-up in a month. She is not in any pain from surgery. :)
We're supposed to meet with her physical therapist and DME soon to go over car seat options. Her PT doesn't feel she has enough muscle tone for a normal booster. She's recommending an adaptive carseat. Since they cost over $1000.00 we are submitting it to insurance.
Home nursing is being worked out. I really don't know how I feel about this. I have mixed feelings on this. I have heard horror stories about private nurses. I don't love the idea of someone else caring for my daughter. But, I am the only person who does any of her home care and some days I'm exhauted and have no time for my other children. I'm on the fence about it. We are asking for her to get 4-6 hrs a day and see how it goes. I think I'm more nervous about interviewing nurses that they would be.
Dakota is having an endoscopy on Jan 5th. It will be outpatient - Imagine that! They want to test her for Celiac disease. Her stomach hurts every time she eats. She's otherwise healthy and rarely gets sick. She never complains about pain until the last year with her belly pain. We've watched and waited for months and GI thinks it's time to do a scope.
All the kids are excited about Christmas and this month is flying by. I'm trying to enjoy the season as much as possible.
